This course requires the use of single sea kayaks (also known as touring kayaks) with fully enclosed cockpits and appropriate safety equipment. If you don't own your own kayak with equipment, it can be rented for the required sessions. Recreational kayaks or sit-on-top kayaks cannot be used for the class.
It is also recommended that you procure immersion protection for the class as you will be required to performed wet exits and rescues in cold water. A 3mm farmer john style wetsuit will be sufficient.
