Essentials of Backpacking Field Trip - Lake Sylvia State Park/Montesano City Forest

Note: Parking is limited please plan to car pool, make your own arrangements.

This is an Essentials of Backpacking -Olympia overnight field trip to test student backpacking equipment and skills.

Students will need to demonstrate backpacking skills:

• Camp set up and demolition / campsite sweep
  • Sleep system
• Water: filtration and storage
• Food site: storage and prep
  • Prepare dinner, a breakfast, and trail lunch, snacks/hydration
• Clothing
  • other weather related gear
• 10 Essentials
  • Be sure to include a card in backpack that has your emergency contact list (We will go over that in course lecture).
