Intermediate Glacier Travel

Intermediate Glacier Travel including advanced crevasse rescue and glacier travel techniques including running belay and steep snow/ice. Priority given to Kitsap 2022 Intermediate Climbing Package students with a few extra slots available.

**COVID-19 vaccine required as will be inside for some coursework.**

Learn more skills to travel over steep snow and glacier ice efficiently and with confidence. 

Prerequisites:  AIARE Level I course or equivalent.

Applicable Standards:

●  Winter mountaineering, including:

  • Winter camping and survival

    ▪  Application of climbing skills in winter conditions

    ▪  Emergency winter shelters

Required Equipment

10 Essentials for the field trips.

Winter-rated  climbing and camping gear - sleeping bag, multiple pairs of gloves.

Beacon, probe, shovel.

2 pickets with lanyard/draw per person - no exceptions!
