March GoHike Pacing Hikes: 2 to 4 miles, 0 to 750 feet of elevation gain - Discovery Park

Enjoy views across Puget Sound and, on a clear day, Mount Rainier and the Olympics from the bluffs. We’ll also pass through beautiful forests and open meadows in this 534 acre natural park. These trips are designed to assist you in developing your goals for conditioning and hiking, so that you can determine what level of walks/hikes and pace would be the best fit for you to sign up for - no pressure, no judgment!

Meet in front of the Visitor Center at Discovery Park at 8:30am. If you are coming by car there is a lot there. There is a bus stop at W Government Way & 36th Ave W.

This will be stay-together social paced group. We’ll discuss some apps that are helpful for monitoring how your pace changes over various terrain/elevation. Pace, like elevation and mileage, is helpful in determining future hikes you want to sign up for. Please advocate for yourself by letting us know if you need a party separation, pack adjustment or would like a pause to take a picture. 

We'll take a peek into the leaders' packs to help you access your own gear at the lot.

Parking and park access are free, no pass required. There are bathrooms at the Visitor's Center. 

Bring waterproof boots with good traction in case it's been rainy. Poles are recommended.
