July Hikes: 3.75 to 6.5 miles, 500 to 1,750 feet gain - Lime Kiln Trail

This hike may count toward your monthly required GoHike course July hike. We will walk on the historic railroad site, visiting the remains of the lime kiln that was in operation in the 1890's until the early 1930's. We will have our lunch on the rocky river shore and come back in the early afternoon. There are no passes or permits required.

Please meet at the trailhead at 8:30 am.  We will begin with introductions and some preliminary information. There is a port-a-potty at the trailhead.

Your leader will send out a Hello Hiker email prior to the hike with details about the hike and the directions to the trailhead.

Please bring the 10 Essentials, water, and a lunch.  Waterproof boots or shoes are recommended, since the trails may be muddy.  If you are used to trekking poles, bring them for some of the rocky places and stepping over blown down trees.
