This hike might be the highlight of your season! Aside from the fact that we'll traverse a true alpine ridge with sweeping views but it also presents the excitement of the fact that it is a "one way" hike with a car shuttle to return to our starting point. We will gather and start our hike at the Dege Peak TH, then finish at the Sunrise TH where we'll shuttle back down the main road to our starting point. Please be aware that it is CRITICAL that we get into the park BEFORE 7:00AM!!! The park now has a reservation system with staggered entry but entry is free and unrestricted before 7AM. Therefore, if you get there at 7 or later YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO ENTER THE PARK!! Also, because of our early start time, your drive that morning will be super early (possibly as early as 4:00AM - 4:30AM from Seattle ). In past years, some folks have rented local lodging closer to the park so as to not have to get up early. The additional benefit of an early start is there will be less crowds in the park that early and we'll encounter less people on the trail. Either way this is a fantastic adventure and the effort and early start is well worth it. More details in your Hello Hiker email!
