Field trip: GoHike: Beginner Hiking Course
August Hikes: 4 miles to 7 miles, 600 to 2,000 feet gain - Anderson & Watson Lakes
A steeper exploration to test your ability to get some elevation gain and altitude in, these two lakes above Baker Lake will be rewarding. At 1,578 total elevation gain over 5.6 miles, there are some great views and a different and wilder landscape to explore at an easy to moderate pace of 1.5-2.0 mph. This hike may count toward your monthly required GoHike course August hike.

We will take our time on the steep parts, enjoy the scenery, and flow with the group's vibe for the day. Hiking poles recommended and definitely food/lunch as we will take a good solid lunch break to linger and take in the land.
This will be an all-day activity, wrapping up in the early evening. I will be heading off to another Mountaineers weekend event near Mt. Baker, so we will wrap up early evening, likely before 5.
I highly recommend making a night of it or a weekend of it and camping or backpacking somewhere nearby.
Meeting Place and Meeting Time are TBD, but likely we will meet in the town of Concrete to hit the 5B's Bakery before heading up around maybe 9 ish (TBC). Those who do not want to meet there can meet at the trailhead ready to go at 10 AM. Carpooling recommended, more details to come. Please check back for timing on this hike as it will be confirmed closer to the date. It will be mid to later morning as noted above, but exact time is not yet set.
The Baker Dam area is where the trailhead is, at the Southeast area of Baker Lake.
