Field trip: GoHike: Beginner Hiking Course
August GoHike Urban Walk: 4 miles to 7 miles, 600 to 2,000 feet gain (optional) - Discovery Park & Locks
This is a fun walk through the locks park, across the locks to an interesting neighborhood to Discovery Park with water views and some forest canopy. GoHike Urban Walks are outings of at least two miles or longer that take place on city or suburban streets, parks or greenbelts.

We will meet in the parking area outside the Hiram Chittenden Locks at 8:15 AM ready to walk at 8:30 AM. This is a 4 hour metered parking area. There are bathrooms in the Locks Park on both sides of the locks and again in Discovery Park.
The walk is primarily on paved streets, bridges, and hard packed dirt trails with some steep hills.
We will stay together as a group crossing together at all pedestrian crossings.
We will have a faster pace (2.0 - 2.5) since this is an August walk.

Leader will send out a Hello Walker email prior to the walk that may include requirements or recommendations for equipment.
