April Hikes: 2.5 - 5 miles, 250 - 1,000 feet gain - Discovery Park

Our trail leads to open meadows, through forests and down the bluff to a rocky beach and historic lighthouse. In addition to forest bathing comes stunning views of Mount Raineer and the Olympics. This loop is a great way to see most of the highlights of this 534 acre natural area park. This hike may count toward your monthly required GoHike course April hike.

This will be stay-together social paced group, giving us a chance to meet and chat with everyone.

You may want to bring a sit pad for the beach. Please advocate for yourself by letting us know if you need a party separation, pack adjustment or want to pause to catch your breath.

Parts of the trails might be muddy, weather dependent. Bring boots with good traction. Poles are recommended. There are a substantial amount of stairs on the way to/from the beach and a couple have relatively large step-ups/downs.
