April Hikes: 2.5 - 5 miles, 250 - 1,000 feet gain - Discovery Park

Pass through a beautiful forest, bluffs, meadows and the West Point lighthouse. If the clouds part we will see the Olympics across the sparkling water. This loop is a great way to see most of the highlights of this 534 acre natural area park. This hike may count toward your monthly required GoHike course April hike.

Meet at the Discovery Park South Parking Lot at 8:30am. The South Parking Lot is reached via a short access road from W Emerson Street near 43rd Ave W. This will be stay-together social paced group, giving us a chance to meet and chat with everyone.

You may want to bring a sitting pad. Please advocate for yourself by letting us know if you need a party separation, pack adjustment or want to pause to catch your breath or take a picture.

Parts of the trails might be muddy, weather dependent. Bring boots with good traction. Poles are recommended. There are a substantial amount of stairs on the way to/from the beach and a couple have relatively large step-ups/downs.
