This is an introduction to mechanical advantage theory. We will be taking a more detailed look at mechanical advantage systems such as
- incorporating friction into mechanical advantage
- exploring other ways of calculating mechanical advantage
- practicing with toothed pulleys/camming devices
- alternate progress capture systems
Priority goes to Foothills Climbing Intermediates and Leaders. After May 1, intermediates from other branches may request permission.
Required Equipment
Typical glacier travel equipment, including toothed pulleys and toothed rope grabs if you have them
