This seminar gives students a framework for approaching emergency situations along with some rope and rigging skills that may be useful for backing-off a route when there's a problem. We will broach several topics but a comprehensive treatment of rescue scenarios is beyond the scope of this introduction. Many of the skills discussed will focus on prevention. Other methods can be useful when something has gone wrong but largely assume that you partner is able to help.
Example topics: When and how to call SAR, spider rappel, passing knots, fixed-point belay, preventing/recovering stuck ropes.
