Chicago to New York City Bicycle Route, #4

• Route connects major cities between Chicago and New York City

• With the addition of Bicycle Route 66, this route completes a cross-country link from Los Angeles to New York City

#4 CLEARFIELD, PENNSYLVANIA – NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK (359 MILES). This section enters the Appalachian Mountains. Most of it follows valleys but you will encounter several ridge crossings with steep climbs and descents. At the Pennsylvania/New Jersey border the route traverses quiet roads through the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. Continuing eastward, New York State Bicycle Route 9 takes you into the city, and to the end of the route at the southern tip of Manhattan.
