Upper Dungeness River

This is a nice hike for many reasons. The trail stays close to the river for most of the way, providing cool temperatures on a hot sunny day, and the sound of water rushing over rocks. The sunlight through the trees and the carpets of moss give it a magical feeling. It opens up at Camp Handy, where we had lunch on a log, sitting in the sunshine. Some woodland flowers along the way: Bunch Berry Dogwood, Calypso Orchid, Oregon Grape.
