Unicorn Peak/South Side

Sun, May 31, 2015. Wonderful sunny day! Trail all the way to the lakes. Then boulder hopping to the first gully which was entirely snow free. The moat was basically a steep scramble. Some of the students asked for a hand line on the descent which we gladly rigged off of nearby trees that were already slug with webbing. We left the TH at 8am and made good time. However there was already a large group on the summit block and another ascending the 4th class gully. Once clear of these groups we put up two ropes and belayed everyone to the summit which really sped things up. 9h RT, 2h of which was waiting behind other parties.
