Trip Report

The Tooth/South Face

Weather was great and we had nice views from the summit! The trail up to the talus slope above Source Lake was mostly snow free. After we got off the trail, we were able to stay on snow most of the way to Pineapple Pass, but we did punch through in a couple of spots. It took us just under 3 hours to reach Pineapple Pass and we were very surprised to find that there were no other climbers on the route when we arrived around 9:30 am. The climbing route didn’t have any snow on it and it took our group of 6 about 3 hours to summit from Pineapple Pass. Our total time car-to-car was 11 hours. In addition to standard rock gear, ice axes came in very handy, but crampons were not needed.
