Trip Report

The Tooth/South Face

We departed the trailhead at 7:30am. Snow was soft and postholed up the ridge and into the basin. Small avalanches sluffing from nearby cliffs. One participant did not show so one rope had three people. Rock was warm. Two other groups of two passed us and rappelled down while we were climbing causing delays. All made it up and down. We single rope rappelled to the back packs then we double rope rappelled down the front side to speed up departure. REALLY postholled to the trailhead arriving at about 10pm. In retrospect, party size for this should be limited with the traffic this route gets. There were really only two groups of two and our huge group of nine. Things would have progressed much faster had one student not been absent.
