South Early Winter Spire/South Arête

5/31/15, 9.5 hours from the hairpin. Hard snow all the way to the notch. Walked ridge to start of climb. There was a goat hanging around so we hung all our gear/packs left behind. Route is in great shape and mostly snow free. Snow is found on the sandy bench and at the top of the gulley below the summit. Both easily bypassed. We left the parking area at 7:10 a.m. and were the only ones on route until our descent. Just one group of 4 we had to pass on our rappel. I had forgotten what a fun climb this is!
