- Snoquera Falls Loop
- Day Hiking
Today's outing was originally intended to be a snowshoe at Hurricane Ridge, but the snow never arrived and most folks canceled, so we ended up doing a hike closer to town. Snoquera Falls trail is in good shape and has an impressive moss collection, big old trees and the waterfall. This hike is actually best done this time of year because the base of the waterfall where the trail passes below it is covered in vine maples, which will partly obstruct the view of the falls once they leaf out. Make sure you do the loop as the upper trail passes below the palisades and offers several viewpoints out towards Mt. Rainier. There are several different places to access this trail, we started at the pull-off just south of the Skookum Falls viewpoint.
