Trip Report

Silver, Tinkham & Abiel Peaks

This was a scramble of Silver Peak only via Annette Lake. From the north side of the lake just east of the outlet we followed a climbers trail through campsites adjacent to the lake. Climbers trail is fairly easy to follow and climbs steeply though forest approximately 500 feet elevation. Trail then meanders on talus around islands of vegetation up another 500 feet marked by cairns. Trail then ascends directly up talus slope 1000 feet to near the ridge west of summit then contours east below summit then climbs the final 100-200 feet to summit. Talus is secure ascending but looser descending. The mountain was completely clear of snow and temperatures were into the 80's. The lake was beautiful to swim in on the return. 13 hours car to car.
