Be prepared for cross currents and wind between WA Park and James Island.
Washington Park has ample parking available for boat launch. Kayaking conditions require proper planning for currents across to James Island, wind can also affect waves and require course correction to stay on track both to James Island and back to Washington Park. Be on the lookout for porpoise and whale sightings. We had a close encounter with gray whale.
