Weather forecast for the area that morning was chance of rain 30%, temperatures high 40's to low 50's, southerly wind 8-11 knots, wind waves 1 ft. What we got was mostly cloudy, no rain, we did get the winds as forecast maybe even more, and the waves were probably closer to 2 ft. Water was "lumpy."
Launched from Edgewater Beach Park around 10 am. Paddled toward Hat Island. About the time we got there we noticed a tour boat about a mile south of us. We decided to watch it and sure enough we saw spouts, about 5. Then the tour boat sped away. That was all the whale action we saw....darn. Had lunch at the south end of Hat Island then paddled back Edgewater Beach Park.
