Sea Kayak - Chuckanut Bay

This was the last day of sea kayak Paddle and Camp weekend of camping at Deception Pass and doing trips in the vacinity.  Weather forcast for this day was for wind and a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms.  My trip to Chuckanut bay was a bit removed from the strongest winds, so we choose to drive to the put in and see.

What we saw was light winds and partly cloudy skies.  Encouraged, we launched and had a delightful paddle.  Thanks to Lauren, who was familiar with the bay, we were guided to 

• Interesting paddle through rocks in the SE corner, 
• White sand beach on the north end of Chuckanut island
• Fossilized palm trees (maybe) in a bay on the north end.
• Another white sand beach, good for a break, in the NE corner.
