Trip Report

Mount Anderson/Eel Glacier

Attempt originally slated for 6/12-14. Only a few fragments of snow remain below Flypaper Pass with what look to be flowing water between them. Unlike the steep snow finger of past years this climb is now a very different beast with a steep and wet chimney at its start. Scrambled to ~5800' without touching snow before deciding to turnaround. I'll be very surprised if Anderson Glacier survives in any form 5 years from now. After returning to camp on summit day the group opted to hike out that day. Approach on Friday was an 8 hr hike to Honeymoon Meadows (footbridge just above Diamond Meadows at ~2800' is out, but no biggie to get across), hike out on Saturday was 7 hrs.
