Intermediate Snowshoe - Skyline Lake & Ridge

  • Excellent snow conditions considering the season we've been having: several inches of fresh snow on top of a solid base. Route was easy to follow and the hazards (steep slopes, cliff bands, boulder garden) were easy to identify and avoid. 

Excellent day out with a great group. This is quite an underrated route, given how popular Skyline Lake is, but as soon as you get off the beaten track you can find solitude and untracked snow.  Views from the ridge were excellent, and the boulder garden is fantastic as always. 

There was still parking available in lot D at 7:30am.  Back at the cars at 1:15pm, to hopefully avoid the worst of hwy 2 traffic.
