Beautiful and strenuous traverse on May 21st using the Little River trail to Hurricane Hill, then down the Wolf Creek trail to the Elwha River (~15 miles and ~5000'). We had 2 miles of road walking due to the washout between Madison Creek and the Wolf Creek trailhead (looks like it might reopen soon). Surprisingly little meltwater volume in the Little River drainage made stream crossings easy. Only significant continuous snow was ~0.5 mile on the Little River trail from ~4500' to the crest of Hurricane Ridge. Other than crowds at Hurricane Hill (from folks walking over from the visitor center), the trails were empty. Times were 5.5 hours up, 4 hours down with just a few sprinkles in the afternoon.
