Trip Report
Day Hike - Rattlesnake Dance Ridge Trail
High wind predictions for the Manastash Ridge area led us to a Plan B, a hybrid trip with ~500 ft of travel on the Rattlesnake Dance trail, followed by a mellow walk along Umtanum Creek.

We had sunny weather all day, except for the usual rain and snow crossing Snoqualmie Pass. A quick discussion of all participants at the Flying J led us to start off on the Rattlesnake Dance trail, with lot of the usual flowers to re-learn and discuss, with gradual changes as we climbed. Flowers are definitely later this year but lots of phlox and larkspur, the few balsamroots already past their prime. The views were great, Stuart Range visible in the distance, and the surrounding hills of the Yakima folds in spring green. After a careful descent we proceeded to the Umtanum Creek trailhead for a picnic lunch and hike for valley vegetation, in recovery from the recent fire.
