Trip Report

Day Hike - Olallie Lake

Great trail thanks to the Forest Service for repairs.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles
  • Trail is in great shape. There is still snow above the junction with Talapus Lake, but melting fast.

We had a great trip to end our after-hours hiking series for the season. The stream crossing that defeated us two weeks ago is running even higher with snow melt, but the Forest Service rangers have placed logs there that made the crossing safer (and drier) - Thank You!

Hiking crossing streamsI love this trail for the beautiful water crossings and forest. Wild ginger is replacing the trilliums on the lower trail. There are quite a few woodland flowers.

We did run into snow as we ascended past the junction with Talapus Lake.  This slowed us down, so we stopped short of the overlook for dinner and just made it back to the cars with enough daylight.
