Few steep sections with exposed roots, but rest of the trail was pretty well maintained.
Strong group, made up to the haystack area in 2 hours, 1.5 hours down to the cars. Had showers hit us for about 30 mins, but did not affect our pace for the most part. I will definitely recommend the old trail as it lets us skip the switchbacks and go straight up the mountain!
