Day Hike - Mailbox Peak

We went up via the old trail and down on the new. Lots of cars, but still a few spots open when we arrived a little after 7:30. Packed icy patches began shortly after starting out, and micro-spikes were close to being a necessity around 1500'. Several inches of fresh snow on the upper slopes, but still good boot tracks.

The "mailbox" was visible, but the entire base was completely buried! A cold wind limited our summit time.

Even with all the cars, the entire trip was not overly crowded. It was a very enjoyable day with beautiful winter scenes and wonderful companions!
