Day Hike - Mailbox Peak

This is a strenuous short hike, 2.5 miles to the top and ascending 4,100 feet. Olympia Mountaineers basic climbing students and scrambling students will have preference for meeting their conditioning requirements. For this climb, 3 hours carrying 30 pounds will qualify for completing the conditioner. Option to take the longer route down for a total 8.1 miles.

We'll meet at Haggans on Cooper Point Road for carpooling, leave Haggans at 6:00 am, and begin hiking at trailhead around 7:30 am.  

This is a very steep hike with an elevation gain of 4,100 feet.  Students should have done conditioning before and be in good shape already.
