Trip Report

Day Hike - Little Si

We had a great group head up Little Si for this after work hike. Easy, well maintained trail and lots of fun with a beautiful sunset view at the top.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles
  • The trail is in great condition with only one downed tree to get over. Lots of bugs and the huckleberries are out! We had this normally very crowded, popular trail almost to ourselves. Only a couple other parties and some climbers at the crags.

After battling the traffic (meeting at the Mercer Island P&R is nice because you can jump in the carpool lane right from the P&R and avoid a lot of it), we made it to the TH. Main parking lot was full, overflow lot empty. We had a lovely evening after work hike with gorgeous golden light and sunset. It was warm, but the bulk of the hike is in the trees and welcome cool shade. We had planned to go at a leisurely pace as this was new to some folks, and we had a nice 30 minutes of pictures, snacks and views at the summit. 4.42 miles, 1220 elevation according to Gaia. Total time car to car including introductions, breaks and summit was 3:41.
