Trip Report

Day Hike - IslandWood

1st hike of the season and on new knees.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles

The hike at Islandwood was the first hike I've done in over five years and the first I've done on brand new knees (both replaced in the past six months). I wasn't able to stay the entire time and left after lunch, but according to my pedometer, I walked a total of 3.5 miles.

Pond

The weather was fairly nice...not raining, but cloudy...not too cold, but not warm either.

Marsh

Brian not only led us around the campus, but asked us questions to get us to think more about nature...noticing more things as we stopped to observe. We even got to see a clump of salamander eggs!
