IslandWood is home to coyotes, newts, salamanders, deer, frogs, many birds, a barred owl, sharpies, baldies, downy & pileated woodpeckers and other creatures. We will explore the pond, the bog and the marsh, visit a treehouse, perhaps climb the canopy tower and a visit to Blakely harbor is also possible. There will be some easy hiking and exploring of the IslandWood campus, but we will also learn ways to engage with, explore and think about nature. Leader is a student in the Education for Environment & Community graduate program at IslandWood.
A $10 donation to IslandWood is suggested. IslandWood is a registered non-profit that runs environmental education programs for schoolchildren.
