Trip Report

Day Hike - Easton Ridge

Damp and chilly PNW day with few views but lots of flowers and great company!

  • Road suitable for all vehicles

Our group of 3 started from the trailhead at 7:15am. There were only a few cars at the trailhead when we began the hike, but cars were lined up down the road when we left. We enjoyed intermittent views of Kachess Lake on our ascent until we reached the cloud layer. We were in the clouds for the entire time we were on the ridge. We saw many wildflowers including Paintbrush, Currants, Violets, Oregon Anemone, and Fendler’s Pennycress. On our way down we encountered several very large groups. There were a few blowdowns to negotiate, but they were manageable. We made it back to our cars just before 11am.
