Trip Report

Day Hike - Anti-Aircraft Peak

A great evening hike in a dense second growth forest with a view of Lake Sammamish.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles
  • The trails are incredibly well maintained and don't include any hazards. There are signs at all the intersections, of which there are a lot. Be sure to have a map with you to help you navigate the trails since it can be easy to take a wrong turn otherwise.

This was an evening hike starting at 6 PM. We had no trouble parking though finding the parking lot can be a bit tricky without a GPS. The weather worked out really well considering the day, it was overcast and cool.

We took a slightly longer variant of the WTA route which included some detours such as the Million Dollar Viewpoint. Our route was around 5 miles and 500 ft of elevation gain in about 2.5 hours. We did take a slightly wrong turn, even with a map, on our way to the Harvey Manning Trailhead parking which took us to a field. We had no problem getting back on track since there was a clear route that reconnected back to the trail without any backtracking. Overall it was a fun trip that I would recommend.
