Great powder snow conditions, not TOO deep, just right! Lots of amazing rime ice on the trees to enjoy.
Arrived at ski area early enough for easy parking in Lot C. Note that Lot A and new Lot G now charge for parking on "peak days". We headed up the "usual route", no icy conditions found, easy shoe'ing. Instead of heading first to Skyline Lake, we went NE to the cell tower, and from there climbed to Peak 5447. From there, we followed the ridge down and up to Skyline Lake Middle Peak, and from there, went to the Rock Garden just east of Heather Ridge. Great snow conditions made for relatively easy climbing and descending overall. After lunch and photography at the Rock Garden, we headed down to the Lake, and then back to the cars, cutting some switchbacks for some added fun. Back home to family events in a timely manner with smiles on faces all around.
