Basic Alpine Climb - The Tooth/South Face

Perfect day to climb the Tooth

  • Road suitable for all vehicles
  • Patches of Snow in the Great Scott Basin, otherwise clear all the way up

Met at the Snow Lake Trailhead at 0530, on the trail by 0605. Trail to source lake is good. Made our way over to the gully and headed up to Great Scott Basin. Remember to keep climbers left as you ascend up the scree to the gully to Pineapple Pass; it's a lot looser on the right side. Reached the base of the climb at 0915. Roped up for all 4 pitches, summited by 1245. Started our descent at 1330. Back at our cars at 1800. Very warm day, needed about 3 liters of water per person
