Trip Report

Basic Alpine Climb - The Tooth/South Face

Thank you weather gods - great crew - routes is in prime shape. Love the Tooth!

  • Road suitable for all vehicles
  • Route was in great conditions.  Winter route is still in - Lack of overnight freeze amplified the pothole lottery -  lots of holes above creeks and around rocks starting to add some spice. - several one or two footed postholes up to waist high were enjoyed by many in the party. -  Tread carefully as it melts out fast.   Snow essentially from Upper alpental lot to the base depending on route taken. snow finger went to the call with a single steep waist high step at the top.   Route is snow free.  No snowshoes were used and or really needed.

Glissade track was prime at ~2pm

Moved up the meeting time on account of afternoon rain in the forecast.  Left TH at 6am and at base by 9.   Staggered the teams a bit and tried to vary the route to try and get more parties on the rock to move more efficiently.   Everyone on summit by about 12.  Back at cars at 4pm.  Strong crew with lots of varied experience, but several doing first alpine lead and or Rock climb -  all crushed it!  10744740576_IMG_4490.jpg
