Alpine Scramble - Tahtlum Peak

4 scramblers had a good time climbing Tahtlum Peak despite rain and wind.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles
  • A path can be followed most of the way; there are some helpful cairns.  There is some loose rock.

This was to be a trip up Pilchuck from the east but I had understood that this would not be a good trip on what was going to be a very wet day.  Tahtlum was a reasonable alternative.  There isn't much actual scrambling on this trip unless you choose to leave the main path which we did in a few places.  No views except that occasionally  we could make out Dewey Lake through the fog.  Even at a fairly slow pace, this took less than 4 hours car-to-car.
