No snow on route, trail to catwalk, climbers trail present on approximately half of the southwest ridge from catwalk to summit.
Camped at Heart Lake. 12.5 hours camp -> summit -> camp for a group of 9, which included 4 scramble students and two out for their first backpack. There are a few opportunities to take the wrong trail. Beware of continuing along the trail for the Bailey Range Traverse when you are to begin your ascent up the southwest ridge. Numerous bears above Heart Lake, we also saw a beautiful elk and some goats in the distance.
