Alpine Scramble - Little Si

Successfully threading the weather window needle for a fun sunset scramble.

  • Road suitable for all vehicles
    • Rock leading up to the British Isles was a little slick
    • Open book move had water, but all the holds were dry
    • Blocky scramble to the right of the open book was out due to running water on downsloping rocks. Yeeeeach
    • Slabs above the open book were dry and in good shape

3 scramblers left the trailhead at 6:05PM in hopes of finding dry rock to scramble to the summit. We found what we were looking for. Despite heavy rains yesterday, the rock had dried out overnight.

We made it to the open spaces above the open book right as the sky was turning and made it to the top right around sunset (at about 7:35pm)

Headlamps were required for the entire walk out.
