First time any of us had done this scramble, but all agreed it was a five star scramble worth doing over and over. An easy approach along the Ptarmigan Ridge. This early in the summer, we crossed lots of snow fields and picked a steep one with good run out to practice self arrest skills. The rock scramble was excellent. The rock was quite stable and even though you have quite a bit of exposure, the pucker factor was low due to the quality of the rock. One could easily combine this with Kaiser Peak for a longer day. Since this was our "rest day" between a 4,000 foot day and a 5,000 foot day, we were happy to leave Kaiser for another trip.
