Mirror Lake & Tinkham Peak

Take "hiker's route" a strenuous, 6 mile round trip hike with 2,100 feet of elevation gain to a summit in the Snoqualmie Pass area. The trail skirts Cottonwood and Mirror Lakes before ascending the rocky ridge to the top of Tinkham Peak. Hiking only to Mirror Lake is 3 miles and 800 feet of elevation gain round trip.

getting there

Take Exit 62 off of I-90, turn right, drive 1.1 miles, and turn right onto Forest Road 5480. Drive 4.1 miles, going straight at the junction with Forest Road 5483 to stay on Forest Road 5480, and reach a three-way junction at Lost Lake. Drive straight,  the middle option, for 2.7 miles to the road's end and trailhead (3,600 ft).

3.0 miles round trip with 800 feet of elevation gain, 4,200 ft high point

Hike one mile to Cottonwood Lake  and then 0.6 mile to the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT). Turn left to head south on the PCT to walk along the shores of Mirror Lake (4,200 ft).

Hike one mile to Cottonwood Lake  and then 0.6 mile to the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT). Turn right and hike ~0.6 mile north on the PCT and turn left on the boot path that leads ~1.0 mile to the summit of Tinkham Peak (5,402 ft).
