Kachess Ridge

A moderate, 6 mile day hike with 2200 ft in elevation gain. Ascend uphill at a steep rate in an open forest to a flower meadow ridge top with nice views of Domerie Peak, Mt Baldy, Rainier and 3 lakes, Keechelus, Cle Elum and Kachess.


From the north side of I-90, Exit 70, turn left and follow Sparks Road, parallel to the highway. At 0.7 mi go right on Kachess Dam Road, and follow it first north, then northeast for about a mile.  Turn right on the gravel road that leads to Trail Nos. 1212, 1308 and 1315.

Hike the Kachess Ridge Trail 2.2 miles to the intersection with the Kachess Beacon Trail. Continue one mile to Kachess Beacon, the site of a former air traffic beacon.
