Concord Tower/South Face

5.6+/5.7 climb of the South Face of Concord Tower done in 3-4 pitches.

getting there

Drive SR 20 to the Blue Lake Trailhead (5,200 ft), 1.5 mi west of the Washington Pass.

approach

Follow the Blue Lake Trail for roughly two miles, to where it starts to open up. Take a well-established climber's trail on the left, marked by a large cairn. Continue working your way upward to the Concord/Lexington gully. As you get higher in the gully, a decent climber's trail appears on the left side of the gully. Ascend to notch between Concord and Lexington Towers.

ascent

Climb three pitches to summit, 5.6+ to 5.7. Consider breaking last pitch into two separate pitches to avoid rope drag.

descent

Return to notch via two single rope rappels.  This is a less crowded alternative to descending to the notch between Liberty Bell and Concord Tower.
