Arness Roadside Park

This roadside park just outside Kingston is the location of the Carpenter Creek estuarine restoration which opened up 28 acres of estuary when an undersized culvert was replaced with a 90 foot long bridge.

Arness Park is a scenic little County park at the head of Apple Tree Cove that is maintained mostly by volunteers and Stillwaters Environmental Learning Center. It is also an ideal kayak launching spot during mid and high tidal elevations. At low tide, there is a long walk across a mudflat. Herons, belted kingfishers and Osprey are often spotted in the vicinity.
