Stewardship Half Day - Shadow Lake Nature Preserve

Help SHADOW beautify our 100-acre preserve and wetland bog by maintaining trails, removing invasive weeds, and planting and pruning native species.

  • Casual

This Restoration Work Party takes place from 10 AM to 1 PM at SHADOW Lake Nature Preserve (21656 184th Ave SE, Renton WA 98058). We will meet at the main parking lot at SHADOW's Richter Education Center and head to the restoration location.  Parking is limited and carpooling encouraged. Extra parking is along 184th Ave. Staff will lead those who are interested on a tour of our peat bog at 10:00 AM, prior to the work party. Please arrive by 9:45 to do sign-in paperwork before we get started.

No previous experience or tools are required, simply arrive with weather-proof clothing for working outside (closed toed shoes are a must), a water bottle, and be ready to have fun while making a difference. Please be aware that you may encounter muddy areas, plants with thorns, or areas where native pollinators (including bees) are thriving.
