Trip

Sea Kayak - Hobuck Beach & Neah Bay

This Beginning Intermediate paddle is for people who took the beginning level Surf Clinic at Hobuck on June 1 or who still need more practice in going in and out of surf, and who would like to go on an introductory open coastal paddle from Hobuck Beach to Anderson Point at the south end of Makah Bay.

  • Sea Kayak V
  • Challenging
  • Mileage: 7.0 nm
  • Maximum Wind: 15 kts
  • Maximum Waves: 3 ft
  • Pace: 3.0

We will meet at Hobuck Beach probably around 9:00 am but meeting time TBD.

This SKV paddle is for people who are signed up for the Surf Clinic at Hobuck the day before (June 1) or previous surf clinic and need more practice paddling in and out of the surf zone.  It is an introductory open coastal paddle from Hobuck Beach to Anderson Point at the south end of Makah Bay and we will need to paddle through surf to accomplish that.  We will plan on going as long as the surf is no more than 3' and average winds of no more than 15 kts.

Because this trip is prioritized for paddlers that are new(er) to the Surf Zone, the trip leaders reserve the right to cancel more experienced paddlers from this trip if they are taking a roster spot from someone who is newer to the Surf Zone and who needs an introductory paddle to coastal conditions.  However, if there are still open roster spots available by the evening of June 1, more experienced paddlers are welcome to sign up and join us.

Dry suits and helmets required.

Feel free to contact the trip leader if you have any questions about this paddle!
