Sea Kayak - Hobuck Beach

This SKV paddle is for people who have taken a kayak surf clinic and want an introduction to paddling in the surf zone. We will paddle from Hobuck Beach to Anderson Point.

Meet at Hobuck Beach at 9:30 am, fully dressed and ready to go.  We will try to launch no later than 10:00 am.

This SKV paddle is for people who have taken a kayak surf clinic and want an introduction to paddling in the surf zone. 

Everyone that signs up for this paddle needs to ALSO sign up for the June 2-4, 2023: Sea Kayak – Hobuck and Neah Bay , Surf and Camping Weekend activity so we have a head count.

We will paddle from Hobuck Beach to Anderson Point, which is at the south end of Makah Bay, where we will have lunch.

Dry suits  and helmets required.

If wind conditions exceed 15 kts or surf height exceeds 4 feet, we may cancel this trip and do something else less exposed such as something out of Neah Bay.

Required Equipment

These eight essentials plus The Ten Essentials are required on all sea kayaking trips.  All but the whistle and clothing should be provided with any kayak rental.

  1. Floatation in both ends of the kayak
  2. U.S. Coast Guard approved Personal Flotation Device (PFD)
  3. Paddle
  4. Spray skirt
  5. Bilge pump with floatation
  6. Self-rescue paddle float
  7. Waterproof whistle
  8. Appropriate clothing for the conditions encountered seasonally
  9. Dry suit
  10. Helmet
