An avalanche safe destination mostly through forest. Getting there requires navigation skills, as there is a "bermuda triangle" through the powerline and nordic ski trails.

We will plan to approach from the Silver Fir lift lot, not from the more common Hyak lot. Navigation will be key, so leader will look to all participants to be engaged in this, beyond the usual trail breaking. Historically, there was a "blue diamond" marked route to the Pass, but these are sketchy in many places. Leader will send GPS coordinates to participants prior to the trip. Hopefully many participants will have GPS skills and/or ability to help with map and compass.
